Services Product Specialist
General Description
Avail is looking for a Product Specialist to utilize our suite of Public Transit fixed route scheduling, mapping, and data analysis and reporting products to in turn provide services to our customers to become a valuable extension of their staff. As a Product Specialist for Avail Technologies candidates will work collaboratively with our customers to assist them with their day-to-day needs. In addition candidates will work with our support staff, engineers, trainers, and other systems experts to provide valuable feedback to help make our products and services easier to use and understand. Qualified individuals should be self-motivated and must gain an understanding of our products and customers with minimal guidance. They must be able to independently research requirements and operations and communicate effectively with other groups as needed to fulfill responsibilities. Candidates should be proficient in excel, and some SQL experience with select queries is essential. Experience with GIS mapping tools such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, Google Earth, or BING is a plus. Experience in public transit or with fixed route scheduling or transit planning is also a plus.
Essential Responsibilities
Work with internal stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of our products, tools, documentation, and customer needs. At the direction of your lead/supervisor, utilize our suite of products to provide the necessary services for data entry, validation, analysis, and quality control Work independently at customer sites to perform similar services in a live operation Write easy to understand text for application in user guides and quick reference pieces as well as the Avail website Provide on the job training to our customers to increase their knowledge of and comfort level with the use of our products as part of their daily job functions
Other Responsibilities
Candidates may be required to perform customer-support duties such as help desk personnel and other functions as the situation may demand SKILLS To succeed in this position, candidate must: Gain an understanding of our products and their application in our target market of Public transit Understand and explain highly technical information to non-technical clients Have strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to communicate in a clear, constructive, and professional manner Highly organized, excellent time-management skills, and be able to work independently with little supervision to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines
Physical Demands
Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed
Travel Requirements: Selected candidates will be required to spend 10-15% of their time on travel
Education Requirements
Associate degree with at least one year of customer service experience
