FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER

HOLLIDAYSBURG BOROUGH

Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Hollidaysburg Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman for the Hollidaysburg Police Department. 

General Requirements: 

Candidates must: (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) Be a United States Citizen; (3) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (4) Be at least nineteen (19) years of age by date of hire; and (5) Possess a valid motor vehicle license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania within six (6) months of hire. Successful applicants must establish a principal residence within thirty (30) air miles of the Borough of Hollidaysburg within twelve (12) months after successfully completing a twelve (12) month probationary period.

If a successful candidate is offered employment with the Borough of Hollidaysburg and is not Act 120 Certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (Act 120), (MPOETC) 53 Pa. C.S.A. §2161 et seq.; the Borough of Hollidaysburg will pay the cost of the Act 120 Training. After successfully completing the academy, that candidate will earn $57,313 annual wages in 2024.

Successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Borough’s Civil Service Rules and Regulations that will include a background investigation, and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.

** A completed application with a $40.00 non-refundable application fee, must be returned to the Borough Secretary Patricia Duron at the Hollidaysburg Municipal Building.
