We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Communications Coordinator. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Administration, Political Science, related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Experience in or willingness to learn website and graphic design is required; familiarity with and ability to utilize various social media outlets is required; Candidate should possess knowledge of and have an interest in local, regional, and state government processes.
The Communications Coordinator supports the Leadership Team and will interact and present information to internal and external stakeholders including Township staff, elected officials, residents, community groups, neighborhoods, nonprofit organizations, businesses, visitors and media. This position will report to the Assistant to the Manager and assist with developing and implementing a strategic plan for communications, outreach and community engagement, coordinate communications programs and initiatives that support and promote Ferguson Township programs, policies, projects, and media inquiries. Also, responsible for assisting with the development, integration and implementation of public relations activity including media releases and communications.
