Public Information Officer
Job Objective: The principle function of this position is the proactive promotion of the accomplishments, activities, and resources of Harrison County. This position also oversees county branding and messaging, provides counsel to department heads, manages County relationships with the media and ensures quality and accurate dissemination of information.
Education And Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are usually, although not always, acquired through the Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Radio, Television, and Broadcasting, Marketing, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Advertising, or a related area; at least four (4) or more years of experience in public relations, communications, advertising, marketing, or a related area; experience in city, county, state or federal government or a large organization. Experience in a comparable local government organization is desirable. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Salary Range: $42,000 - $50,000 Annually.
