Assistant Director of Communications - Job Ad: Revised February 21, 2019 Juniata College invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Assistant Director of Communications. Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Communications, the Assistant Director of Communications will create engaging written copy for use in Juniata College's marketing campaigns and materials, including, but not limited to: the Juniata College websites, enrollment microsite, magazine, news site, and other projects. The assistant director of communications will join a collaborative content-driven marketing operation dedicated to growing the reputation of Juniata through marketing and communications efforts and driving positive constituent engagement. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with traditional and emerging marketing metrics to guide the development of content.
A bachelor's degree English, writing, journalism, communication, marketing, or a related discipline is required, or sufficient professional writing experience to be equivalent. The successful candidate will have experience in and the ability to write and edit for web and print. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Due to the volume of written work, the successful candidate will demonstrate meaningful experience as a substantive editor and proofreader, possess a superior command of spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
