Assistant Professor of Education
Juniata College, a highly ranked liberal arts college of 1,600 students located in the scenic Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania, invites applications for a one year fixed term faculty position in teacher education available August 2018. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, teacher preparation, and liberal arts education. Important accomplishments include a strong record of teaching effectiveness and scholarship, a commitment to program development and inclusive teacher education programs, and a desire to contribute to the Education Department and overall life of the College.
Requirements include:
A doctorate (or ABD) with a primary focus in Special Education (specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders is desirable). Experience in and/or interest in English Language Learners and Foundations of Education are desirable. A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience is required. Primary responsibilities include:
Teaching required special education courses in the PreK-4 certification and PreK-8 special education certification with strong contributions to the teacher education program.
