Juniata College invites applications for an enthusiastic and energetic early childhood professional who will bring positive leadership and a supportive attitude to the NAEYC accredited Juniata College Early Childhood Education Center. This is a full-time, 10-month contract with benefits that runs August 1 through May 31.
Bachelor's degree, certification in early childhood education, and three years teaching experience including the preschool level; Health Assessment, Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Clearance, FBI Clearance, TB test, Fire Safety Training, and ongoing professional development. Master's degree and director's credential are preferred. Supervisory experience and background in early intervention or special education are also desirable.
Administrative duties include supervision of teachers; leadership of self-study, program assessment, and documentation required for DHS and STARS licensure and NAEYC accreditation; enrollment; budget; leading and collaborating with the teachers and Early Intervention staff in the design, delivery, and evaluation of the program and family events.
Teaching duties include teaching, providing direct care, assessing and documenting children's skill development in one learning group for one half day Monday-Thursday; assisting with routine maintenance and design of the physical environment.
