POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lock Haven University Foundation (LHUF/Foundation) seeks team player with a collaborative and
flexible style who is a hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven
environment to fill the position of Director of Accounting and Finance.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations and Development, the Director of Accounting and
Finance manages the fiscal affairs of the Foundation; manages the LHUF audit, financial statement
compilation, and 990 tax return preparation; maintains internal controls and official documents of LHUF;
maintains employment records and employee benefits; manages the financial operations staff; manages
operations of the Foundation fixed assets (properties); and other duties as assigned as necessary to
support the mission of LHUF.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience is required, with
non-profit accounting experienced preferred. Demonstrated excellence in accounting, budgeting,
internal controls, finance, payroll, financial reporting, and staff management is required. Experience
with non-profit audit, financial statements, and tax returns is preferred. Experience working with
Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge is preferential. Strong communication skills with a commitment to
developing team members is a must.
ABOUT THE LOCK HAVEN UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
The Lock Haven University Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to generate and
manage resources for the benefit of Lock Haven University and its students. The Foundation has been in
existence since 1967 and administers over 400 individually named scholarships. During the 2021-2022
fiscal year, over $1.1 million in private support was raised and over $800,000 in scholarship aid was
provided to LHU students. At the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022, LHUF’s endowment was over $14
million and overall Foundation net assets totaled more than $27 million.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The LHU Foundation provides a competitive base salary plus incentive compensation based on
qualifications and experience and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and 401k.
