The County of Madera is seeking a proven leader to become the County's next Director of Water and Natural Resources.
Working collaboratively to safeguard Madera County's Water and Natural Resources. This position will have the primary responsibility for developing and implementing county policy and activities regarding surface water, ground water and watershed management and for acting as the County's facilitator and collaborator with various committees, organizations and stakeholders regarding water and natural resources issues.
The Director of Water and Natural Resources is a Department Head position that is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors, and directly reports to the County Administrative Officer.

Recruitment process:
A qualifications appraisal for the purpose of evaluating the candidate's education, experience, and work-related qualifications may be scheduled for those candidates who best meet the minimum qualifications.
The Board of Supervisors may limit the number of qualified applicants eligible to participate in the examination process.

As a condition of employment with the County of Madera, a candidate must submit to a Tuberculosis (TB) screening, and related follow up testing as necessary. Designated classifications* are also subject to a medical examination, which includes a review of medical history. TB screenings and medical exams are administered by the Madera County Public Health Department and/or health care professional designated by the County.
