This person will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Dean of Nursing with the daily operation, organization, administration, general effectiveness, and supervision of the associate degree nursing majors, as well as future program planning, development, and accreditation.

Responsibilities and Duties |
-Supervise appropriate staff and faculty. (Essential) -Coordinate with faculty and the Assistant Dean of Nursing on the annual review and implementation of all associate degree nursing curricula. (Essential) -Oversee tracking and verification processes for health requirements for incoming associate degree seeking students. (Essential) -Provide ongoing statistical analysis of data related to NCLEX pass rates, graduate job placement rates, admission criteria, and various minimum GPA maintenance for the associate degree majors. (Essential) -Assist with the development of and provide in-program student orientation sessions. (Essential) -Provide leadership to assigned faculty on instructional matters within the associate degree majors. (Essential) -Assist with student advisement for associate degree major students. (Essential) -Assist other nursing directors and the Assistant Dean of Nursing with student advisement as needed. (Essential) -Collaborate with faculty and other nursing directors to develop and submit to the Assistant Dean of Nursing for review, accreditation materials for the program accreditation process, as well as all future re-accreditation processes. (Essential) -Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Nursing and other nursing directors to develop the nursing program operating and capital equipment budgets. (Essential) -Oversee the establishment and monitoring of admissions criteria for the associate degree nursing majors. (Essential) -Assist the Admissions staff in recruitment, selection, and orientation of students for the nursing program. (Essential) -Provide leadership in the formulation and revision of policies, procedures, and objectives for the program in cooperation with nursing facilitators, Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors, faculty, and Advisory Committee to meet ACEN and SBON requirements. (Essential) -Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors, and the clinical director with the development of long-range program plans and goals. (Essential) -Collaborate with other nursing directors in the search and interviewing of any nursing department positions as needed. (Essential) -Work with other nursing directors and faculty search committees to recruit and select new faculty. (Essential) -Oversee the associate degree majors academic review processes, students, and 24-credit limit pre-health process. (Essential) -Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Nursing, nursing directors, facilitators, and faculty, to orient new staff in the associate degree major. (Essential) -Provide leadership to the Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors, clinical director, facilitators, and faculty, in developing and implementing a formal and systematic learning assessment plan and reporting system. (Essential) -Supervise the maintenance of associate degree nursing students’ records; evaluations of students’ progress; and assist with follow-up studies of placement and achievement of program graduates. (Essential) -Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors, clinical director, facilitators, and nursing office assistants to prepare nursing program master schedules and faculty schedules. (Essential) -Oversee associate degree related clinical placement sites. (Essential) -Facilitate cooperative relationships with the affiliate clinical agencies and the nursing program relative to matters of nursing instruction. (Essential) -Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors, and the clinical director to oversee the implementation of policies and procedures for student preceptorships. (Essential) -Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors, clinical director and facilitators to oversee the development, administration and monitoring of the curriculum in accordance with ACEN and SBON standards and the mission of the College. (Essential) -Mentor and be a resource for full time faculty in the performance of their duties. (Essential) -Oversee the delivery of integrated competency-based instruction on campus and with the online learning management system within the associate degree majors. (Essential) -Attend continuing education programs for self-improvement and program development. (Essential) -Contribute to the Advisory Committee meetings and lead such in the absence of the Assistant Dean of Nursing. (Essential) -Contribute to the nursing faculty meetings and lead such in the absence of the Assistant Dean of Nursing. (Essential) -Collaborate with associate degree team facilitators and oversee team faculty meetings. Lead team faculty meetings in the absence of the team facilitator. (Essential) -Assist the Assistant Dean of Nursing, other nursing directors and the clinical director to prepare and administer proposals for additional funding sources. (Marginal) -Participate in College events e.g. open house, visitation, tours, etc. (Essential) -May teach up to six (6) credits or eight (8) contact hours or equivalent per semester in consultation with and approval of the immediate supervisor. (Essential) -Serve on College committees as requested. (Marginal) -Assist with recruitment of prospective students through high school visits, College events such as summer camps, science fairs, open house, and other events as assigned. (Essential)
