The mechanic will analyze, diagnose, and make necessary repairs to all College HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and report problems, as they occur, to the HVAC and Plumbing Systems Specialist. Minimum education and experience include:
- Documented completion of technical courses in a plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration school, institute, or branch of Armed Services.
- Must possess type I and II Certificate in proper refrigeration practice.
- Four (4) years of recent full-time experience as a commercial/industrial/institutional plumbing, HVAC&R mechanic or educational and work experience equal to four (4) years.
Abilities and Skills:
- Working knowledge of plumbing, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and electrical theory, practices and techniques, and applicable code regulations. (Minimum)
- Ability to read diagrams, blueprints, and control prints. (Minimum)
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. (Minimum)
- Must have good communication skills in order to deal with staff and populous of College facilities. (Minimum)
- Possession of basic computer skills. (Minimum)
