Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy is seeking a Part Time Spanish Teacher, Part Time Math Teacher, and Substitute Teachers.
Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy is located in scenic Centre County, five minutes from State College/University Park and Penn State University, in the heart of historic Boalsburg. As central Pennsylvania's only Catholic high school, Saint Joe's enrolls students from Centre, Clinton, Huntingdon, Blair, and Mifflin counties.
Our campus is on the site of the former Boalsburg Elementary/Harris Township High School, a beautiful, historic building, with six acres of green space for outdoor learning and athletic practices. Renovations to the facility, built in 1936, were completed late in the summer of 2011 to assure that the space could accommodate a growing student population. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy officially opened its doors on August 29, 2011, as the first-ever Catholic high school in Centre County.
Four founders invested their time and talent in conducting feasibility research and meeting with officials from the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown and local officials, as well as with fellow citizens who expressed interest in supporting the additional of a Catholic high school to the local educational landscape. Upon opening, Saint Joe's enrolled 38 students in grades 9 and 10, and offered a full academic curriculum, core electives, clubs and activities, and eight PIAA sports.
Today, Saint Joe's is nearing a total enrollment of 200 and employs more than 25 faculty and staff, and offers a classical sequence of courses at college prep, honors and advancement placement levels, along with a full spectrum of electives, extracurricular activities and clubs, 39 dual enrollment college credits, and 11 PIAA sports. The curriculum prepares students to succeed at top colleges and universities and to approach career and life planning by staying grounded in faith while reaching for their goals and aspirations.
