Position Summary
The position of Workforce Development Marketing Manager exists to provide and support the integrated marketing communications needs for the Workforce Development & Corporate Services Division within Sinclair Community College. The primary goal is to support the sales channels across the Division to ultimately serve all clients and maximize revenue generation through creating and leveraging integrated marketing communications and public relations efforts which effectively and consistently convey the Division’s brand and value proposition.
Principal Accountabilities
• Ensure consistency of brand and value proposition by managing and writing, or coordinating content for flyers, brochures, case studies, testimonials, and other marketing collateral needed to support all sales efforts across WFD&CS; this includes creating and distributing the newsletter.
• Contribute to the development of and manage the Division’s social media strategy, including social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.; actively post courses and events, and ensure appropriate response to comments.
• Manage and maintain the WFD&CS website within the larger SCC website, in coordination with SCC Marketing.
• Seek opportunities for, and draft, news releases as they relate to new WFD&CS products and offerings and relevant activities and events.
• Draft articles featuring WFD&CS leaders, as they are sought out by media.
• Seek opportunities to submit, and draft, articles for area publications, including the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly FOCUS, etc.
• Serve as the “keeper” of, and maintain and manage, Division data and information throughout the fiscal year related to activities, events, news, and accomplishments for various uses, including the Division Annual Report.
• Draft Division Annual Report by August 31 of each fiscal year upon coordination of theme and scope from Manager and VP.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations required
• Minimum of five years successful experience in marketing communications, public relations, or related field required
•Demonstrated professional skills in writing creative and effective marketing and public relation pieces required
• Demonstrated ability with eye catching design and graphics skills needed to produce flyers required
• Demonstrated experience and ability with effective use of online marketing and social media applications required
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Word, Access (or other database), Outlook, computer networks, Constant Contact (or other email list server), and Social Media sites including LinkedIn and Facebook required
• Experience creating and editing video required
